About Me!

I'm a professional wildlife artist, illustrator and tutor passionate about wildlife and all things feathery and furry.  Working mainly in pastels, oils and watercolours, my highly detailed work has been widely exhibited across the UK.  I have also undertaken commissioned work for a wide range of clients including the Wildlife Trust. I work from life, my own photographs or in collaboration with professional wildlife photographers to produce paintings that capture the unique characteristics of my chosen subjects with accurate and detailed techniques.

Passionate about wildlife and animals, I'm a farmers daughter and grew up on a mixed farm in Derbyshire I would regularly disappear into the cow sheds, pig sties, woodland and surrounding countryside with sketchbook in hand drawing and painting anything that moved!

Enjoying your subject is fundamental, painting and drawing have taken me on a huge journey of discovery, constantly inspired by observing individual species in their natural environments to really understand what makes them tick.

I've recently published my first childrens illustrated book 'Duncan Counts to Ten' which will be available to purchase May 2017.

My paintings 'Flamboyant' and 'Flamboyance' have been selected for the David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation ‘Collection’ and can be viewed in the Mall Galleries at the David Shepherd Wildlife Artist of the Year 2017, the exhibition dates are Wednesday June 28 – Sunday July 2 2017.

In 2015 'Autumn Glow' was selected in the Artists category at the Patchings exhibition, I also exhibit widely with the Association of Animal Artists, BAS and galleries throughout the UK. The studio door is open every summer for Open Studios, demonstrating techniques and answering questions!

Friendly workshops and weekly classes are held in my studio near Oxfordshire were students learn in relaxed, small groups.
