Cate is a professional wildlife artist, illustrator and tutor painting beautifully detailed wildlife portraits in oils, pastels and watercolours.
She produces wonderfully meticulous natural history illustrations predominanty in watercolour, beautiful detailed commissions for a wide range of clients including the Wildlife Trust creating interpretation boards and waymarker signs for their reserves and protected areas.
Cate has always been passionate about wildlife and animals, a farmers daughter growing up on a mixed farm in Derbyshire she constantly disappeared to the cow sheds, pig sties, woodland and surrounding countryside with sketchbook in hand drawing and painting anything that moved!

Painting and drawing have taken Cate on a huge journey of discovery, inspired by observing and researching individual species in their natural environments to really understand what makes them tick.
Enjoying your subject is fundamental, Cate works from life, her own photographs or she collaborates with professional wildlife photographers to produce paintings that capture the unique characteristics of her chosen subjects with accurate and detailed techniques.
Cates paintings were selected in 2015 for the Artists category at Patchings exhibition, she also exhibits widely with the Association of Animal Artists, NEWA, Patchings, BAS and galleries throughout the UK. The studio door is open every summer with Bucks Open Studios, demonstrating techniques and answering questions!
Cate holds workshops and weekly classes in her studio near Buckingham and demonstrates to art clubs and societies throughout Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and Northamptonshire throughout the year.
